Figure out
29.5.–31.5.2026
Wanna Castronovo, Sandra Lafenthaler, Helene Litorelle, Ania Zorh
The exhibition is dedicated to the process of figuring out. Ania Zorh finally managed to bring her archive from Ukraine. Now she is rediscovering her older works, mixes and juxtaposes them with more new ones and tries to figure out what can be used for her PhD on invisible work. In “circle. blue: looking”, Wania Castronovo repeats a structure until it changes, collapses or transforms. She focuses on instabilities. The text “Statue” does not describe a figure but produces it: through grammar, the relation between creator and what is constructed shifts. Sandra Lafenthaler presents her paintings from the project “Archaeology of the Present,” where the public trash can becomes the central focus of artistic exploration. Helene Litorelle is presenting collages that are, at a first glance, peaceful images: like a butterfly or a tree. They are, however, made out of newspapers from 2022, when the full scale war in Ukraine began, and dealing with topics of war, flight, survival and hope.
