resin in my brain glues my pictures together stages encounters with past lives in the present through recurring motifs of video game choreography, tech paraphernalia, and past dreams and possessions.
Nostalgia operates not unlike a Claude glass, a convex mirror used in landscape painting to reduce a scene’s color and resolution – rendering it in a more reproducible form. When the world is looked through fabricated fragments of memory, reality is similarly restaged. As a landscape reveals its most apparent contours only through the glass, the surrounding world, too, may be structured by studying collages of its affective elements.
