Marlene Hausegger, Raed Ibrahim

Marlene Hausegger and Raed Ibrahim explore symbols with political connotations. They focus on stories they often discover in public spaces – the neighbourhoods where they live and work – and retell them to a wider audience using visual elements.

The works produced specifically for the exhibition “Sitting on the Sidewalk” are also being presented on the wide pavement in front of the Kunstraum philomena+ on Heinestraße.

Whilst Raed Ibrahim this time focuses on the “Crocus moabiticus”, a rare yet extremely hardy flower native to eastern Jordan, Marlene Hausegger’s installation, made from oil drums and car rims, examines global resources, climate change and dependencies.
