SUMMARY:The Season of Narratives (Independent Space Index 2026)
DESCRIPTION:<p>For the Independent Space Index Festival Der Betrieb propose
 s an extract from The Season of Narratives. The season took place in April
  and May as part of the brut Wien program\; it is a durational dance perfo
 rmance that explores how stories shape identity and guide behaviour. As th
 e dancers’ repetitive movements are woven together with spoken words\, w
 hat emerges is a space for reflection\, where dance and text invite everyb
 ody to reevaluate the role narratives play. For the festival Alexander Got
 tfarb and Anna Maria Nowak perform for two hours daily\, 16:00-18:00. They
  dance and tell stories exploring how narratives create meaning\, offer mo
 dels for action and influence the sense of self. When one narrative become
 s dominant\, it risks silencing others and reinforcing power structures- r
 aising questions of who controls a story and whose voices remain unheard. 
 From 14:00 to 18:00 the audience can engage with sound and text at Der Bet
 rieb or just come by and hang out with us.</p>
